I am a certified member of the
Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, the world's oldest and largest professional body of Alexander Technique teachers. I offer private lessons in the Alexander Technique in West London, at the
Constructive Teaching Centre in Holland Park, and at other locations in London.
The Alexander Technique teaches the skilful "use of the self": how we move, how we breathe, how we learn, how we organise our awareness and focus of attention and, above all, how we choose our reactions in increasingly demanding situations.
People come to the Alexander Technique for many different reasons. Because it is a method of mental and physical re-education, it can have a positive effect on a wide range of stresses and ailments, including back, neck or shoulder pain and other muscular/skeletal problems, headaches, RSI, breathing difficulties, sports and performance strain, stress related conditions, anxiety and depression; as well as enhancing performance, improving vitality and general wellbeing.
However, the Alexander Technique is essentially about experience. To truly understand it, I would encourage you to come along for a trial lesson and experience it for yourself. Please
click here to book a lesson, or I would be very pleased to hear from you if you would like further information.
